With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Ellen Clendinnen of Altoona, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 13, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Ellen Clendinnen to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hallberg and Ethyl Hallberg (Johnson); and her husband William D. "Bill" Clendinnen. She is survived by: her children, John Clendinnen (Kyoko) of Hiroshima, Japan, Carol Clendinnen of Tavares and Susan Clendinnen of Deland, Florida; her sister Nancy Hallberg-Emerson of Brewster, Massachusetts; her sister-in-law Karen Vanderwal (Terrence) of Sarasota, Florida; and her grandchildren, Josiah, Micah and Andrew.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel (226 E Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL 32778). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM and at 10:30 AM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Lakeside Memory Gardens (36601 County Rd 19A, Eustis, FL 32726). An entombment will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
