He was predeceased by: his parents, William C., Jr. and Mary Hatch Smithy; his brother Lawrence Glenn Smithy; and his grandson Benjamin Ward Smithy. He is survived by: his children, Bradford Wayne "Brad" Smithy (Laura) and Jennifer Smithy Bedenbaugh (David); his siblings, Ramona Crews and Gerald Smithy; and his grandchildren, William Smithy (Amanda), Anna Smithy, Logan Bedenbaugh, Lucas Bedenbaugh (Leslie Ann) and Landyn Bedenbaugh.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery (3596 US-441, Lake City, FL 32025).
