He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Walters and Ethel Meyer; his former wife Alice Earlene Walters; his siblings, Louise Brunson, Alvina "Tina" Cauldwell, Ruth "Tissie" Paul and Alvin "Bubba" Walters; and his stepgranddaughters, Angie Kennedy and Anndrea Kennedy.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Walters of Satsuma, Florida; his children, John, Louis Walters Jr. (Jacki) of Alaska, Allen D. Walters of California and Gwendolyn (Gonzales); his stepsons, Wayne Kennedy, Wade Kennedy and Warren Kennedy; his grandchildren, John Louis Walters III (Caiti) of Florida, Steven Walters (Melissa) of Texas, Richard Gonzales (Barbara) of Tennessee and Alicia Gonzales of Oklahoma; and his great grandchildren, Cannon Walters, Nolan Walters, Rose Graycey, Avelyn Walters, Lilith Walters, Aeiol Gonzales and Roeh Gonzales.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Welaka Baptist Church (670 3rd Ave, Welaka, FL 32193). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513). The military honors will be held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
