She is survived by: her husband Harold Merkel; her sister Ila; her children, Phyllis Shoots (Jim) and Martin Merkel (Karan); her grandchildren, John Shoots (Sarah), Sarah Trott (Eric) and Michelle VandenBout (Adrian); and her great grandchildren, Chloe, Jake, Sam, Hannah, Cora and Nate.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kays-Ponger, Uselton & Lemon Bay Funeral Homes (1935 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293). A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
