She was predeceased by: her parents, Colina Cameron Contreras and Eduardo Contreras; and her husband Peter Medrano. She is survived by: her brothers, Alister Contreras and Juan Contreras; her daughters, Susan Medrano, Daisy Almegard and Patty Wilson; her grandchildren, Nicole Estebanell, Lauren Adams, Lee Almegard, Shelby Almegard, Natalie Falkowski, Colin Hibbert and Brenna Wilson; her great grandchildren, Seve, Luca Adams and Sophie Falkowski; and her caregivers, Mercedes De, Dalia Valentin and Marcia Romero.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valdosta Animal Shelter, where she rescued "Kissy," her cherished Shih Tzu, or to the Florida Immigration Law and Justice Center, both causes close to her heart.
