In the sacred silence of farewell, Douglas is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Douglas' spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Francis and Anne Claire Banting. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Kelly Shoemaker (Tim), Christopher Banting (Ann) and Tara Banting; his granddaughters, Julie Banting Rogers (Mikail) and Samantha Ferguson (Brice); his great grandchildren, William and Alayna; and his sister Jean Hagenburger. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Douglas's honor to the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist.
