We bid farewell to Shirley Idell Smelley (Corrigan, Texas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 24, 2025 at the age of 82. Shirley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wyman Smelley and Vera Smelley; her brother Allen Ray (Rex); her brother-in-law Gerald; her niece Shana; and her close friend Belva Bailey.
She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Whitworth Martin (Don), Connie Whitworth Haas (Greg) and Johnny Whitworth (Laura); her siblings, Susan Hubbard (Hal), Ann Standley, Debra Vitanza (Vic), Dollie Maske (Gary) and Devoe Smelley; and her friends, Vicki Traylor, Lisa Belvins, Tom O'Reilly and Bobby Fielding. She is also survived by Her many nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carroway Funeral Home (204 E Front St, Corrigan, TX 75939). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
