With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward E. Smiley (Dallas, Texas), who passed away on August 26, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Edward is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Edward's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward E. Smiley and Elizabeth Jackson Smiley; his sister Elizabeth Smiley Wells; and his brother-in-law Dr. Julian Wells. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his sibling's children, Julian Wells of Bethesda and Elizabeth Verrill (Ted); and also Teddy of Alexandria.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church (8011 Douglas Ave, Dallas, TX 75225). A burial will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at the Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park (7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225).
